Cushendun’s Big Arts Weekend is a four day festival held every year over the 1st May bank holiday weekend. With drama, poetry, art, walks, workshops and family fun the programme has something for everyone and many of the events are free.
BAW programme 2018 e-mail versionCushendun’s Big Arts Weekend is a four day festival of music, drama, poetry, exhibitions, workshops and family fun celebrating the rich culture and spectacular landscape of Cushendun and the Glens of Antrim. The 2018 programme will include regular favourites such as Share-a-Poem, the Art Exhibition, Sunday Family Fun Day, Dawn Chorus Walk through Cregagh, Music for a May Evening and Naturally North Coast and Glens Artisan Market.
The full programme to be announced early March 2018 on our website. Cushendun has been home to many artists and writers including Louis MacNeice and John Masefield. The beautiful beach and lovely Glendun are at their best in spring and while you’re here you might want to pop in to the the spectacular caves featured in the Game of Thrones. Cushendun’s Big Arts Weekend is organised by Cushendun Building Preservation Trust (CBPT), which is working to restore Cushendun Old Church to provide a permanent community, heritage and arts space in the Glens.
