This discussion will commemoration and pay tribute to Cushendun resident Moira O’Neill, whose book of poems ‘Songs of the Glens of Antrim’ is alleged to have outsold Yeats in 1901 the year of its publication. Sally Phipps is Moira O’Neills’s granddaughter and the daughter of Molly Keane, arguably the last representative of a distinguished tradition of Anglo-Irish writers. Sally Phipps’s biography of her mother was published to wide critical acclaim in 2018. We are very excited about her visit to the OCC, where , in conversation with Dr James Morrow, she will explore O’Neill’s poetic legacy.
