Glenarm Castle is the ancestral home of the McDonnells, Earls of Antrim. This hidden gem is open to visitors from Easter to end of September. The garden hosts many events throughout the season.
Since opening to the public in 2005 the garden continues to evolve as a centre of horticultural excellence with imaginative herbaceous borders, water features, fruit and vergetable gardens and display of flowers which burst with colour from spring to autumn. From the mount at the top of the garden you have a great view of the Castle, sea and the estate beyond.
The 19th century mushroom house, now Converted into a charming tea room and gift shop, is open too visitors for delicious light lunches and homemade cream teas.
Glenarm Castle Walled Garden, in it incomparable setting by the sea, will delight all who come to visit, with it’s charm as well as horticultural spectacle, we hope will leave an enduring memory. Our hope is that you will want to return again and again.
We are delighted that again the season will commence in the garden with our 10th Annual Tulip Festival (30 April – 2 May) with some 8,500 tuilip on display in the borders and tubs around the garden and is the perfect opportunity to witness the garden coming back to life after the closed winter season.
