Visit WebsiteThe Old Church Centre offers organisations, groups and visitors a unique venue to host meetings, activities, concerts, seminars, weddings and celebratory events.
Set in the picturesque village of Cushendun, this 1840’s Grade B listed former Church has been sympathetically renovated to meet the social and corporate needs of 21st Century users while maintaining the integrity and ambience of its 19th Century origin.
Deconsecrated in 2003 the Old Church had fallen into a sorry state of disrepair. With determination and ambition a group of local people formed the Cushendun Building Preservation Trust and began a long journey to save and renovate the former church, breathing new life and a new purpose into the 18th Century purple-red Layde sandstone.
In 2019 all this hard work has been rewarded with the opening of the Old Church Centre as a heritage, arts and community centre.
The Old Church Centre offers a versatile and attractive space which is full of character and charm. It is a wonderful addition to the social and architectural fabric of the village, which has a long association with the arts.
The centre is open as a visitor information point and available for hire for a multitude of uses including classes, concerts, seminars and weddings.
